if you read the comments on the bottom of the page there are people who are wondering why they had to kill the gator instead of trapping it and moving it down south!!! Silly people think money just comes from nowhere!! Think about the logistics of hunting, capturing, and then transporting a gator to louisiana or some where down south...or spend a $1 or less on a good bullet and dispose of the carcass.

Why waste the payroll of a game warden on killing it in the first place? Winter will do the job for free.

40 inch gators are nothing to be scared of.

who said the game warden had to waste their time...I am sure you would find alot of volunteers that would love to hunt that thing. Anyways it appears that there was 2 and that they were some dudes pets that someone released into the lake. They showed the dude out in the lake looking for his gator.
