I have finally saved up the money and obtained approval from my wife to get a bow mount trolling motor, only one problem.
I am looking at getting a powerdrive v2 and I cannot decide between a 50# or 55# thrust motor.
I have a 1985 Alumacraft Lunker, it is an interesting boat. It is wide and heavy, i ended up putting a 40 horse johnson on it, which is the max rating, to get it to plane. At any rate I dont want to get a trolling motor that cant pull me around but the price difference is big enough where I am considering giving the 50# a shot.
I know going bigger is best, i learned that with the outboard, but I only have enough to get the 50# right now and need some experts to chime in on whether it will work.
I will mostly use it for casting muskies, jigging walleyes over structure, and slow trolling

Nice to finally meet you tonight. Make sure you tell me who you are again next time you come in. I will probably forget.
Let me know when you are dropping in again and I'll make sure we have more of those beverages around!
This northern boy needs a little help with this one.
Dried up kill hole in the duck timber?
Quicksand that all the deer fell into?
Cool lighting in a forest that’s so different from ours?
I’ve never been in the AR woods before but you’ve arrived by the looks of it.
Good luck.
