Would it be worth it?

Last year most of the turkeys my dad saw were out in the middle of a alfala field. He said every morning they were out in the field strutting. The toms were acompanied by a few hens. My dad would call and the birds answered the first time then lost interest. Now Im wondering if it would be worth putting a blind out in the field and use 2 hen decoys with a strutting decoy also. I think it would be worth a shot. Dad likes the idea and is willing to give it a shot. What do you guys think?

That was last year, and there's no guarantee they will will use the same spot, or even the same field this year. It is a valid option though, if they are still there.

There's no reason why you can't set up in the middle of a field. They show little fear of blinds no matter where they are.

No need for turkeys to get used to a blind. You can set it up in the AM and the blind will not bother turkeys at all. Deer it will bother but not turkeys. Go for it. I've used a blind the last few years and just set it up where the birds are and it never bothers them.
