I am always amazed at what is poster on this forum under BASS. 95% of it is Boats, rods, reels, Out of state fishing and other stuff that should be under OPEN WATER.

A Bass is a fish. A boat is not a bass. laugh

Let's talk Bass.

So what is the best boat?

I disagree. If I want advise about equipment, boats and other things I am posting it here in the bass section. If you post your questions under the open water forum your going to get answers from people that think dragging around a lindy rig and watching a bobber is fishing. No thank you for me.

So, do you think an 13' rod would make a good flipping rod Or do we have to use BASS rules?

The Bass forum is more of an exclusive club than a place to talk about a fish. I believe we are currently taking applications if you'd like to join us.

PM me an application. grin

You forgot about the sunglasses.

No that is OK. I would just die if I showed up at a "Tonka" landing with the wrong shades on the bill of my hat. crazy

The largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) is a freshwater gamefish in the sunfish family, a species of black bass native to North America.

Comit,

Are you a walleye guy trolling the bass forum?

I'm a fisherman. I like them all. If I had to pick the one I like the most in this state it would be a Bass. A White Bass.

Buck Perry was a Bass fisherman. In case you didn't know, He was a troller. Who is the #1 Bass fisherman? He would suggest you read spoonpluging by Buck Perry.

The old timers on this forum may remember me by the name Muddog. I do know Bass. You know "brain the size of a pea".

There is a rough-fish section on here as well. Actually, there are two, one is called "Carp/Sturgeon/Real-Gamefish" and the other is oddly enough called "Walleye Fishing-Perch".

While we would love to have anyone stop by here, you better bring your A-Game, as we smell a fruad from a mile away, or 30 minutes in a walleye boat...

Why did you change your name? It wasnt due to aimless complainig about trivial things was it.

I think it was do to me calling out a Muskie org.

I was trying to learn about Muskie fishing and all I was getting was double talk and other members covering there 6's. It was the typical. We are so excited, Oh what a great meeting, Yes, what a great meeting I'm so excited for the next meeting, Can't wait, Yearly member ship is!!! We are having such a good time. Yearly member ship is!!! You didn't need to be a fisherman to smell that one out. I call it chumming!

Looking down the first page in this forum, I only see threads about bass boats, bass lures, which rods to use for bass fishing, bass that people caught, and which lakes are good for bass. Color me confused also.

Are you saying if you put the word "bass" in the name it is on topic.

As for rods to use for "bass" fishing, I can't think of a rod that won't work. As long as the line, rod and reel are balanced, why wouldn't it work. If it casts and retreves it will work. If you want to use heavy lures use a heavier combo. Other then that, believe whatever the sellsmen want to tell you , it is up to you. A 13 foot cane poll works so well as a bass fishing rod it was band from "bass" fishing compititions. They don't allow trolling because everyone would be trolling. Yes your "bass" boat would look like a normal fishing boat. It may have a raised front deck for flipping but with a 13' rod I don't think that would be necessary.

A pair of polarized sunglasses and a wide brimed hat to keep the sun from hitting the back side of the lenses will work.

A professional fisherman is only trying to sell you something. Look at his shirt. Why would a professional fisherman give you a hot tip if there is no money in it for him. It is how he makes his living you know.

So I say, 95% products.

Don't talk about gear, tackle, or boats on a fishing forum. Got it. You should probably spread the word to all of the other species boards...since they're all talking about the same things.

Not to keep this thread going but I cant help myself. This forum is awesome because you get advice from other bass fisherman and in general I think it all relates to the great sport of bass fishing that most people visiting this forum enjoy.

I posted about batterys recently...does that directly relate to bass or belong in this forum? Not really but I want advice from other fisherman that I know put a hurting on batterys over a season.

Respectfully if you dont like it then dont visit the bass forum...

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
