mrpike1973
1. 25 hp evinrude elec start model 25752h serial e0003141 i found its a 1977 any way i can find out how much it weighs.2. the boat i put it on is light. i want to put some weight in the front. is it better to run the battery up front or the fuel tank it would be about 7 feet i think this may be to long for a fuel hose thank you
SkunkedAgain
No clue about the weight, but my advice would be to set the battery up front. The weight of the battery never changes versus the fuel tank having no weight at the end of a day of fishing. Plus, if you need to prime the fuel into the crab, you don't want to crab walk to the front of your boat. It's also good to keep gas fumes separated from batteries so separating the two is a good way to go.
delcecchi
One source has it at 115-120 pounds, which is about right as I recall it.

candiru
I keep one of those 40 or 70lb sand-in-a-tubes (no salt) in the front of mine to weigh it down rather than run a long fuel hose or battery cables.
Tom7227
How about taking a 7 or 8 year old kid with you?
SkunkedAgain
How about taking a 7 or 8 year old kid with you? They can fit in a sand tube as well In all seriousness, I would rather run a longer electrical line than add weight to a small boat. Adding a 50lb sand bag slows you down
