BronzeBrother
Ok guys I still have the iPhone 3GS and it crashed on me awhile back and I lost the Navionics app. It won't let me reinstall it without purchasing it again. I have been hearing some grumblings lately about the lake maps becoming less detailed and accuracy being less as well. Is it worth buying this app again. Keeping in mind I do not have other electronics other then a handheld gps with no lake maps.
tsande00
Definitely still worth buying.

muc33
I use mine a lot. It helps me seek out fish. For 15 bucks I guess I wouldn't question it. I used to pay 99 bucks for chips in my 300 dollar hand held and I would get new chips every other year. let alone having multiple chips for different states and one just for LOTW. Without a doubt I'd re-purchase.
amateurfishing
how do you "sync" your phone? the app should be backed up in your itunes acct on whatever device you sync your phone with
fisherman-andy
You do not need to sync your iPhone. The app itself is always part of your purchased history and can be re-downloaded without paying for it. Check your purchase history on your iTunes account to make sure its the correct one you purchased the app under. If its listed then just simply tap the app to download or purchase it again. It will recognize that you have already purchased the app and ask you to redownload again. If it ask you to pay after you tap on download or buy it instead of telling you that you've already purchased it then you bought it under the wrong iTunes account. Its rarely that an app will be pulled and is no longer available on the iTunes store or your purchased downloads. However you may have an older version of Navionics since they have had a new app since then. They have the Marine & Lakes app now that may be USA alone or include USA & CAN. You may have had the old North app if you had the 3GS a while ago.
Hardyboy
It should as stated above be a "purchased" app that you should not have to repurchase. Unless your changing platforms like iphone to android then well your outta luck. As far as worth.....hands down worth every penney spent. I have not seen the quality drop that others have suggested. If you clear your maps and re download since the past update theres almost hd quality to a lot of the lakes and i havent found a loss of accuracy either. Just my experience but its still a solid app for me.
masoct3
Do you happen to know if I can download my Nav maps that I had on my Droid? I upgraded phones and it was a fresh OS, so I downloaded all my free apps for my setup. I tried to download it, but it wanted money, obviously.Thank you!You do not need to sync your iPhone. If you log in to that account on a new phone, you can go to the Market and push all of the apps associated with your Google Account to your new device. An Android device that is likely going to have the highest compatibility for apps to be transferred is a NEXUS device.

Neiko
I had dropped my Android HTC Thunderbolt and insurance replaced it. I put in the sim card and memory card to my new one. I was worried I would have to repurchase when I downloaded the app but it just fired right back to the last spot on Mille Lacs I was on. I think it might have been an updated version also as it seemed more detailed.
Hardyboy
For me personally i went with the U.S. Canada version as i fish Lake of the Woods and in the future would like to do some ice excursions to Canada. Depends on what you need. If your never leaving the U.S. and dont need some of the border coverage then save your 5 bucks. if you may expand and explore then what you get for your 5 bucks is significant! Kyhl
As already pointed out, I think they launched a new version of the software a year or so ago and you may have to buy the new version regardless of owning the previous version.I don't know anything about a degradation in their maps. I like them better because they are updatable. That said, there are differences where Navionics works better than Lake Master and vice versa. There have been a few threads on this topic already. Bobcatjerry
Wow!!!......I just got an iPhone and didn't know that this existed until I read on the forum. I downloaded the app and its awesome! Thanks for the info
KirtH
Here are some screen shots of the App and features enter routes, estimated time of arrival, distance to arrival, heading to waypoints and fuel consumption. Can be done underway while receiving real time route data, or planned off the water, syncing to your other mobile devices.

Send them an email or call Applecare to retrieve your lost username/pw. No need to create another new one and pay for more apps, or ones that you should already have. DaSwede
I just bought the App for my iPhone. I used to have it on my Droid. The two seem different. Do you have to download a map to get all the depths. If I go to the same lake on mine, it give generic depths. There isn't as much definition. BartmanMN
Yes, you always start with a download of your area. Did you zoom in? Some look generic until you zoom in. If you want me to look at mine, PM me the Lake
AwesomZZ
I'm pretty sure that they had an old version of navionics, then that one went away and a different new version came out. That's how it was on android. I remember looking for my version and after some research, I found out it went away. So I had to buy the new version. If you ask me, it didn't matter cause it was definitely worth it.
