JBMasterAngler
Why on earth are Maryland and Rutgers joining the big ten? This conference shuffle is ruining college football! I don't see how this benefits the conference or the teams. Neither is a football powerhouse, and there is absolutely no way they can develop any sort of rivalry with the other schools in the conference! Good luck maryland trying to recruit a local prospect by telling him we'll be playing the midwest instead of going to sunny florida Big thumbs down to the big ten!!! Scott M
Bizarre cash grab. Regional conferences are the way to go.
schmitty3
Big 10 network is loving it.
toughguy
It will be the big 20 when it's all said and done. I just hope they realign the football divisions into east and west. I don't like not having WI in the Gophers division.
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted November 21, 2012 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted November 21, 2012 They're are doing it because they are both in huge media markets - Maryland is in the Washington DC market and Rutgers from NJ is in the New York media market
countyline
The Big 10 put their little network into a lot of homes now. Every school with profit from it.
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted November 21, 2012 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted November 21, 2012 It will also help with recruiting more good players to the Big Ten.The good players want to be playing games in front of large TV audiences. Then Big Ten is gaining that shortly. toughguy
The new hot rumor is North Carolina to the Big Ten. MN wouldn't be have the option to pay $800K not to pay them if that happened.
JBMasterAngler
I also heard Kansas and/or Georgia Tech.
goblueM
I'm extremely upset over this addition. I understand it's about money and TV...but honestly, as much as I hate Notre Dame, adding them and Pitt would have been way better. Or Oklahoma. Or... well just about anybody that isn't a coastal state.
Scott M
4-5 Super Conferences. It's too bad really. Don't know how they will balance football schedules, but when it comes in the next decade they'll figure some way to work it out.
