LightningBG
I'm planning on being done by 6:30am Wishful thinking as it's only happened once in my 21yrs of gun hunting. Wish everyone a Safe and Successful Hunt!!! I sure hope that I'm not done by 6:30! That would mean that I hit one with the truck on the way there! I'll have to double check, but I think we open at 6:43. Zone 21 here too. Good luck Gixxer, and everyone else.

tunrevir
Had a great weekend in zone 23 over near Bruce Wisc. I hunted the weekend with my son and my daughter hunted the weekend with her grandfather. Saw a fair amount of activity. My son and I hunted from a ground blind and saw a half dozen does and a spike which he passed on. Would have been his first buck but he decided he wanted to try for something a bit bigger. He ended up shooting a mature doe that the DNR aged at 4.5 years at the registration station. Nick made a great shot and dropped the deer where she stood at 37 yards. My daughter shot herself a truly nice eight point, that was in full rut, grunting and chasing does and made a great shot on the fast walking animal at 35 yards. Punched the heart and the deer dropped after 25 yards. This deer was also aged at the registration station at 4.5 years old. What a great experience for 2 young sportsman and the old codgers that sat with them on stand! Tunrevir~

fishtrapgirl
My husband got this guy opening morning at 7:45. He was chasing some does and my husband heard him grunting from behind his stand. 20 yard shot with a T/C Pro Hunter 300 Win Mag, dropped him in his tracks. Seeing tons of deer this year so far. Hunting in Barron County. Great pic tunrevir! I love seeing pics of kids with their deer. Congrats to them!

gixxer01
Zone 21 didn't pan out this year. Only antlers we saw were on the Coyote kill we ran across. Lots of stupid yearlings running around, though. Saw close to 30 fawns and only 1 mature doe. Neighbors had lots of shooting this year, though. vman59
Myself and 4 sons ended up with 3 bucks and 4 does of which 3 had front legs broke already. Nothing big as bucks go but got the ones we wanted out of the gene pool out of there.
