Modded Little Buddy Heater

Modded my little Buddy Heater tonight by adding a 12V computer fan to move the hot air instead of just letting it rise to the top of my shanty. I am starting to like PVC. I had the fan just lying around. Not sure what to do with the blue wire though.

I have a spare battery for my Showdown that I thought was dead last year. So I bought a new one. Then found out it still held a charge. I have it in a plastic Plano Ammo box with foam around it. I hooked it up in the basement and ran the heater for a little bit. It does move the air pretty good. Also, it does not get hot since the air is being pushed before it actually reaches the fan. I am planning on adding a rocker switch to the lid on the box. Might add a couple more switches in case I want to add lights to my shanty.

Looks good! Great modification. It will be interesting to see what your run-time will be on that little bugger. Who knows, maybe an LED on top of the fan to make it a complete package??

Good work!

Now you got me thinking again. What can I mount took the top bar? How about an LED bike light that just fastens to a tube? Will have top look around now.

That is pretty cool. I'd bet if you used the grey PVC that is used to house electrical conduit you'd be safer from a cold weather shatter/breakage perspective while in transit in your tub. I believe that stuff is rated for cold weather use and is not as brittle.

By the way, SAVE THAT SOCK between the washer and drier!!! It's looking for it's mate.

Something like that would be perfect. If you want to go crazy you could fasten two on and have lighting for both of your rods. Either way, it'll be fun to see if you can find anything that works.
