I don't have a hub style, but I sleep in my Eskimo Quick Flip 3 for weekends at a time. I've even slept 2 guys in there. I put a rubber fatigue mat down on the ice (otherwise the warm air from the fan melts the ice and creates a wet skating rink). I sleep in a cot and hang rattle reels from the tube framing of the fish house. I also sleep with a CO detector for peace of mind.

It is surprisingly comfortable. It's like camping in the summer only you have a chance for those rattle reels to go off in the middle of the night!

I'm assuming that you don't have a bench seat in your QF3???

I have one for sale in Omaha, NE if someone is interested.

I had a bench seat but took it out last year in favor of 2 padded boat seats. I still have the entire bench seat assembly up in my garage rafters collecting dust. Before I go to sleep I pop off one of the boat seats and let my cot overhang the mounting brackets for the seats. (the mounting for the seats is very similar to the bench...think 2 aluminum bars spacing the length of the plastic tub) I overhang the cot into the tub so that there is room for a rattle reel by my feat (between the end of the cot and the fabric of the portable)

I tried sleeping on the bench seat one time on Mille Lacs but found it quite uncomfortable. The padding was too firm and narrow for my liking.

I would use a cot in a hub style house for sure. I have slept overnight in portables before, the only problem I had was condensation from the ceiling would drip on my face every so often (especially when the wind gusted). Other than that it was great!

Even with a carbon monoxide detector around.. Things can and do fail.

You still need to think about adequate ventilation especially in such a small confined space such as an ice house where it all can happen very quickly. Always make sure the vents are open.

Be safe and come home.

I have a wood floor and a board that fits on the top of my tub if I remove the seat bracket. The board is carpeted and with a blanket, it is warm and comfy.

I have this set up in my Canvas Craft insulated model and it works great.

Problem with CO2, I am still here.

I do have my vents open and I always keep the zipper open across the top about half way.

Good point. I also leave my vents open and zipper cracked. I have woken up with headaches in the morning...but that wasn't from the CO or lack of fresh air. ;-)

I picked up one of the new Clam Bigfoot 4000 - 8x8 insulated pop up and plan to use it as a sleeper but am also interested in how people have designed and built floors. I'm thinking of a couple peices of ply, hignged with 2x2 stringers and 1inch pink foam insulation between the stringers. Will use carpet on the top side. Also thought about just getting a couple of the heavey rubber stall mats from fleet farm and just using those. Any thoughts one way or the other or other good idea on flooring system for an insulated pop up?

Now that's an idea I can wrap my head around. I've looked here and there for a cot to use in my Yukon, but just couldn't justify the cost for less than a handful of uses. Plywood and carpet I have. Done deal. Thanks for the idea laugh
