Rack for Auger

I have the digger carrier as well, mounted on the rear of my snowmobile. Works great. Highly recommended.

Does the "narrow trail" adapter (allows the auger to be carried in-line with the snow machine) work with a 2-up machine...it looks like it might hit the back of the 2nd seat back.

For those not great at fabrication themselves, IMO, Digger does have they best out there for both Snowmobile and ATV applications. Clam also came out with a universal bracket system for ATV's. Have not used it yet, but, seen it mounted to some of the machines and it looks pretty handy as well.

But, for those handy at fab'in up something, Lutzy has a sweet set-up. Or maybe Lutzy will make one for you? smile hehehe

Hey Jim you gave a vote of confidence for the Digger Auger Mount.

I've seen it in past years and am concerned somewhat about no support for the head of the Auger. Have you been running the Digger auger mount yourself and have you seen any issues with it? Is everyone overthinking this that brings up this point? Seems like it would be easiest just for the flip of the one lever.

At the Thorne Bros ice get together this year i noticed the auger mounts on the Artic Cat with tracks. I liked that three point of contact which supports the head better. I know talking with Matt they aren't quite available yet but hopefully soon. Have you been able to work the rubber snubbers on and off any issue in the cold that you can think of?

I'm just curious if anyone has ever had something fail because the powerhead wasn't tightly secure?

I will also agree that the digger carrier is probably the best out there, or at least the best I know of but I haven't had any issues using a simple setup with 2 ATV Mad Dog gun mounts. I mounted them to the rail of the back seat of the sled with the handlebar mounts and at a tight enough angle to hold the shaft at 2 points securely.

The auger simply slides right in and friction does the rest. The power head is not attached to anything and I've never had any problems.

I have heard of a couple instances where the digger rack came unlatched and the auger went flying. That was easily solved with a small bungy strap around the shaft as well near the power head.

Regarding the questions around support for the power head for the digger mount, they do have a bracket you can get from them that supports the head. I believe it is free of charge, but you have to call them since it isnt in the kit OR in stores.

I wanted the guys at Digger to make a mounting system that mates right up to the Arctic Cat speedrack points, but since it wasnt offered I bought an Arctic Cat Speedrack utility bar to hold my auger. Works perfect.

A picture of what I'm talking about. This is with the Nils I had, but works just the same with a SM.

I use the same thing on the back of mine but not as visable in this pic. It has some rubber bands to hold it down when running as shown on DTro's
