fishnhuntnboy
I just bought a patternmaster choke for my stoeger. I put it on and the choke doesn't go flush all the way to the barrel. Will this harm it at all or should I not even shoot it. The gap is really small by 1/16 of an inch. Just dont want to blow out the choke or my barrel. Thanks
Archerysniper
A picture would help. Is the choke designed for your gun?
fishnhuntnboy
I have the stoeger and I know they take the benelli/berreta Mobil choke. I can't post photos on here from my phone as this is my Internet source. Basically from the tip of the barrel and the bottom part of the choke do not touch
Archerysniper
If it is the correct choke and it is seated fully into the threads I don't see a problem,it might be a a factory flaw.
fishnhuntnboy
There are no threads showing and I stuck a piece down the barrel and the choke goes all the way down. The choke just isn't flush to the barrel like maybe they made the extension part 1/16" short
Random guy
Are you saying the choke is ending 1/16" inside the barrel or sticking out from the barrel 1/16"?
fishnhuntnboy
Sticking out 1/16" imagine this as the barrel...[______]=[]Where the equal sign is is where the gap is and to the right of the equal sign would be the choke...wish I could post a pic to help
leech~~
Take all the chokes you have for the gun and line them up on a flat surface and see if just that one is higher then the others? Also match up the thread depths with each as they are lined up or count the threads. All should line up even bottom or barrel end up. If they all have the same amount of threads and that one is just a hair longer on the outside it's just a hair longer on the outside and should not be an issue. If you find any shortage in threads from that one to the others. Take it back and get a new one as it may not be seating all the way down in the barrel threads! gspman
Does it state that it is meant for your gun on the packaging???Extended chokes aren't supposed to be flush to the barrel. However they don't extend only 1/16" out from the barrel either. They usually extend an inch or more out from the barrel. If the choke is seated well and there is no gap inside the barrel where the barrel & choke tube meet then it might be okay.
fishnhuntnboy
Yea it sticks one inch out like its suppose to but just doesn't seat all the way to the barrel. I did call pattern master today and they told me aslong as the choke screws in fine and there is no gap inside of the barrel you are ok.
