ratherbefishin
My sportsman makes a clicking sound when bars are turned right all the way when backing and not as loud goin forwardWell my first ? is do you think bad rear wheel bearing could cause a clicking sound???? The wheel bearings do have slight play. I have only heard wheel bearings make humming sounds in the car world, my atv has me stumped..... I have already replace both axles with no luck grrrrr
NAMASafetyDirector
I've seen it if the brake disks get warped that when in reverse the disk will grab the brake pads and force them up till they hit the caliper then release making a clicking sound. You could try looking at that.
Shane683
Ratherbefishin - any solutions yet? I've got an 02 700 with the same problem. Mine's in the shop now and they're trying to figure it out. I'll post if they come up with a solution. Anybody else have any thoughts? Thanks.
Shane683
Just talked to the guy who has been working on my 02 700. He thinks the noise was caused by the tire pressures not being equal which makes the differentials bind when turning. He said he made sure the pressures were the same and he didn't hear the noise. Might be worth a check.

huntnfish
My 02 400 is doing the same thing and I was assuming one of the axles was getting bad. I'll have to check the bearings while I'm digging around in there.
