Leaky
I stumbled across this and though I'd share:We are about to enter the BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity. When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:(1) The woman buys the food. (2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables and makes dessert. (3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand. (4) THE WOMAN REMAINS OUTSIDE THE COMPULSORY THREE METRE EXCLUSION ZONE WHERE THE EXUBERANCE OF TESTOSTERONE AND OTHER MANLY BONDING ACTIVITIES CAN TAKE PLACE WITHOUT WOMENLY INTERFERENCE. Here comes the important part:(5) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL. (6) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery. (7) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is looking great. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he flips the meat. Important again:(8) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.(9) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table. (10) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes. And most important of all: (11) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts. (12) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed “HER NIGHT OFF “, and, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women. I see the humor in the posting, but I too am doing 11 of the 12 steps when I am smoking. My wife loves it, although it took her a couple of meals to figure out how easy it is for her when I am making ribs or whatever. Free day for her! Leaky
Ya, thats the way it is at our house too. Get me a beer? You kidding me? Prep the ribs? That'll be the day.
McGurk
Step 12 rings true, no matter what...
rundrave
I failed to see any humor at all especially when it starts off about "entering" the grilling season. There is no grilling season at our home, as we grill all year long rain snow or shine.

LindellProStaf
Ha ha, Good one. I just read it to my wife. Of course I had a smile on my face which put a smile on her face and she isn't buying one bit of it.... Oh well, good humor anyways...... Tomorrow, baby backs and armadillo eggs. They are fun to make and have told my friends how I found them on this site. Now they are looking too... Also, I put an oven control in my frig/hotplate smoker last weekend. It made my smoking so much easier. Keeps it right where I want it to be. Another thanks to all on this site for the great ideas....

I watched Alton Brown do a special on smoking shoulders and ribs. He used a home made wood box with a hot plate. Like the idea of an insulated fridge.
