I know there have been a couple posts about this floating around in the past and I thought I would take a little time to put together a video.

I'm not responsible for anyone blowing their hands off or starting their turkey blind on fire, do this at your owns risk. cool

The pads will turn white when they are all used up.

Now if someone knows how to refill the pads that would be great.

I have had some success soaking old pads in Tempo and reusing them. You can find a small bottle of Tempo SC Ultra for about 10 bucks.

I know some guys use pieces of mosquito coils and sticks also, and just place them on the grill of the thermacell unit

A friend of mine tried soaking used pads in permethrin with decent results. Says it smells about the same...when the smell is gone, replace.

Anyone else notice that they are not selling the pads alone any longer?

At least I haven't been able to find them.

Thermacell packages 3 pads with one butane cartridge and that's that.

Not good for those of us that refill the butane cartridges.

Anyone been able to find the pads for sale sans cartridge?

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure I've ever seen them sold solo either.

Hmmm.

If one butane cartridge covers 3 pads it sure makes refilling kinda...well, not as fun.

Course, many of us run the pads WAY past the "burn-out" point.

Happens often in the dark once the skeeters bug off smile .
