If it rains enough that they take to the driveway or roadside I can catch'em . But in the grass with a flashlight, too slow.

Never tried electricity. Do you have to give them CPR to keep them fresh ?

This is what makes it fun for me. We go out with flashlights whenever we can. It's a fun game. It's the hunter and the hunted. Mrs Skunked Again thinks it's a hoot and I'm going to make sure that my daughter finds it to be fun as well!

It takes stealth! It also takes a bit of patience to slowly pull them out of the ground so that you don't rip them in half.

I'm not a good luck/bad luck person, but I know how I'd feel some giant fingers plucked me mid-stride with a lady!

Its just a metal 3ft rod and a cutoff cheap cord taped to it. The rod is directing current into the ground and the only way for the worms to escape is the surface. Crack a cold one and wait, then move every 15 minutes.

The rod should be smooth and narrow so it can bu pushed in and pulled easier. On the cord, the hot has to exposed to the rod and the neutral to be hidden/insulated. It only works with circuit breakers in your panel. It will blow fuses. Also gfci outlets will not work. Stick it in the groud a foot or two and plug it in.

I should be typing a disclaimer also. You will get shocked once and a while if your not careful. Don't kneel or touch the ground if your hand is on the rod and barefoot is out of the question. If you have a pace maker or heart conditions i suggest you dont try it. Keep you pets and kids away. It works for me and maybe not for everyone. TUBE it for details.

I remember the timing part, they pull and sooner or later have to relax, sometimes long enough to get them other times it takes a few minutes of tug of war before you get them out whole.

So is it the flashlight or vibration of the hunter that sends them underground. I have heard red light does not scare them, never tried one.

Two for ones are hard I never felt too bad about it as long as they stayed together when tossed in the ice cream bucket.

That's probably true but I shine my headlamp like a policeman and walk up right next to them. It always feels like they sense the movement of the grass around them so I get within an inch or two of the grass tops and then strike. I'm successful 90% of the time. That's good enough for me not to switch to red lenses or any other measures.
