Hey G52 I could say that the big H racing teams are falling apart and that Toyota now has 2 very competitive teams in the field with Gibbs and Waltrip and Cousin Carl should forget about last year.

This should grin pick the chatter up a little.

and the fire suit has been out of sight and mind.

Ruetiman was trying to stay in the top 35 in owner points and if you listen to the radio chatter he said it just quit on him. Yeah it changed the race but its racing not sencornized danceing and the drivers and crews have to roll with the flow and stop whinning that Reutimam/Boywer cost them the race. If the Hendrick cars wouldnt of been slow off the restart Bowyer wouldnt of had the chance to get under them.

...after limping around the track TWICE. smirk

Stunts like that are why drivers (and I use that term loosely) like Reutimann and Ragan don't have full-time jobs anymore.

He was driving around the track and was black flagged by NASCAR twice and still kept running around. He was like 63 laps down.

There shound not have been a restart thats the point.

What would have been a pretty cool finish to the race (not a Hendrick fan).

Two other drivers were within 1 or 2 laps of him. 1 he was trying to stay ahead of by a lap and the other he wanted to catch and go by to gain another point. So they also should have been asked to get off the track for being 60+ laps down. I beleive in NASCAR you have a certain number of laps after being black flagged to get off the track before they stop counting the laps you have run. He was just pushing the rules and a motor went south completely at a wrong time.

If they don't obey the black flag then their laps are no longer counted and it is just the same as if they were sitting in the pits, so circling the track and gaining 0 laps/pts did nothing except change the outcome of the race and caused a bunch of wrecked cars. Complete bonehead move on Reutimann's part.

The black flag is officially called "the consultation flag." It means that the driver who receives it must pit to respond to a NASCAR concern.

Frequently the black flag is given to a driver who breaks a rule of some type such as breaking the speed limit on pit road. It can also be given to a driver who's car is smoking, dropping pieces on the race track (or in danger of doing so) or a driver who is not maintaining the minimum safe speed on the race track.

A driver receiving a black flag must pit within five laps.

I can't find when the black flag was given but did see that they have fallen to the 36th spot in the owner points.

pushbutton the Danica's thing is very intersting.....

When she is in the car that cars is a Stewart-Hass car but a Tom Baldwin car when another divers is in it...... and Newman won the race maybe there is a little somthing going on here.

Although i do like a good conspiracy....was not thinking that in depth smile Think if they finished race they would have been in the top 35 and now don't think she will be exempt going into qualifying next week. Thought the Stewart Hass gig was just to get her into Daytona....really don't know for sure though.

Quote:
Kurt Busch's wallet is considerably lighter after NASCAR hit the driver of the No. 51 Phoenix Racing Chevrolet with a $50,000 fine and probation until July 25 for reckless driving on pit road during the closing laps of the Bojangles' Southern 500 Sprint Cup race last Saturday night.

Craig Strickler, one of Busch's handlers, was fined $5,000 and placed on probation through Dec. 31 for interfering with broadcast media after the race. Strickler blocked the lens of a TV camera with his hand as Busch was walking down pit road.

Andy Rueger, gas man for the No. 39 team of Ryan Newman, was fined $5,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until June 27 for failing to obey the instructions of a NASCAR official. It was Rueger who was at the forefront of a post-race confrontation stemming from Busch's drive through the No. 39 pit stall after his car was repaired from a late-race wreck.

NASCAR officials tried to restrain Rueger, and during the scuffle, a NASCAR official lost his balance and fell across the hood of Busch's car. NASCAR vice president of competition Robin Pemberton said at the time that he didn't consider the official's fall the result of a deliberate act, adding that the official simply lost his footing.

Tony Gibson, Newman's crew chief, was placed on probation until June 27 as the person responsible for the actions of his crew.

The penalty announcement of Busch's fine and probation also included a reference to Busch's altercation with another competitor after the race. Rueger, who ran to Busch's car and initiated the altercation, was not cited for the confrontation, bur rather simply for failure to comply with the directive of a NASCAR official.

Looks like Kurt was at it again today, more or less threatening to beat the "cow manure" out of a reporter after the Nationwide race. He is already probation so it'll be interesting to see what NASCAR does with him.
