mnviking28
Have they figured out yet how they are going to get him to play 3 positions so they can spread their draft picks further?
LABS4ME
I was hoping the Packers would have went after Michael Bush, but he is now a Chicago Bear... They most likely got their running game back.Good Luck!Ken

BRULEDRIFTER
Didn't he play for the T-Wolves?
klecker
The vikings have Chris Carr visiting today..... Fantastic!!!!!! Another player who missed a bunch of games.Looking at his stats, career back up. GOOD LUCK! I would like to personally thank the Vikings for taking over the door mate of the NFC north. Thank god the lions could finally mail it to someone else, and keep it there. ENJOY!BTW he aint Brandon Carr.

FISHINGURU
This is getting boring, sign T.O.
LMITOUT
The Vikings couldn't sign a first round bust in Ginn, so why in the world would T.O. want to play here. I'd stay in the IFL too.
Scott K
Quote:Packers agreed to terms with C Jeff Saturday, formerly of the Colts.Saturday is choosing the best chance at a ring over a reunion with Peyton Manning. The Broncos will move forward with J.D. Walton while the Titans may have to take a look at former Eagles center Jamaal Jackson. By way of Pro Football Focus' ratings, Saturday and the man he's replacing, Scott Wells, were both top-five NFL centers in 2011. The 37-year-old Saturday was easily the best interior lineman left on the market.
LABS4ME
Well that helps our O-Line... now a CB and hopefully some Linebacker help and we have a chance. Unfortunately I think McCarthy and Thompson believe Grant, Starks and Seine are all we need for a running game... yuk! Rogers becomes even more effective if he had a real run game behind him...Good Luck!Ken
zepman
I don't see how replacing Wells with Saturday improves your line. That is a step back.
LABS4ME
They didn't replace Well's with Saturday... Well's left. I guess I'm saying when you no longer have a great center on your O-line, signing Saturday is a very good signing and greatly helps our line. I believe he'd still be called top 5 in the NFL... Well's wasn't coming back, so I'll take this any day of the week and if it's a step back, it's not a huge one! Hopefully it will give us at least a couple years to develop another center.Good Luck!Ken
klecker
More fantastic insight from klecker. Thanks for your contribution. No accolades needed my friend!Heck it looks like the Queens re-signed Aromashodu here is a quote I found………..“The contract for Aromashodu continues the slow, steady assembly of mid-level talent for, presumably, bargain prices in the hopes of finding a way to compete in the suddenly top-heavy NFC North.”Good luck!!! SkunkedAgain
So the Vikings added Zach Bowman from the Bears. Seriously? How does continually picking players off of the Bears' scrap heap help?
zepman
He's an upgrade over what we had back there last year. Good depth at a needy spot. Cook at one corner and Winfield as the nickel....they will draft the other starting CB to play opposite Cook. Sherels, Sapp and even Allen are not NFL CB's. They need to get rid of all three of them. YiGGiN4SLoBS
He's depth at the position and thats about it.. I think its pretty clear the vikes arent going to sign anyone thats really going to upgrade the talent on this team. They are going for guys who were either injured last year and thus a "bargain" or guys that arent really starter level talent. Its not going to equate to anymore wins on the field IMOHope youve all got the NFL ticket cuz the blackouts are coming this year!
zepman
I disagree. Bowman, Schwartz and Carlson are all upgrades on the team. They may not be the "headliner" you're looking for...but upgrades nonetheless.
YiGGiN4SLoBS
Schwartz isnt any better then Herrera or Hutchinson and Carlson maybe slightly better then Shiancoe if he can stay healthy, but we overpayed for him. He even said himself we made him an offer he couldnt refuse. So glad we thought it necessary to over-pay for a second TE but we couldnt overpay for a real team need.... Anyway, i wouldnt necessarily say their upgrades, they are bodies. Bowman is an upgrade on special teams and just another body in the secondary. All of these signing make me yawn
zepman
We had the worst secondary in the history of the NFL last year...ANY signing back there is an upgrade.
TR21HP
I honestly don't know why you guys are surprised at these low to middle level signings. The Vikes have historically stayed away from signing big free agents and have chosen to build with the draft, and I know, how has that gone for them? Zigi is not going to spend money without a stadium deal and thats a sound business decision. You're basically wasting your time thinking the Vikes are going to make huge moves to get to the top right away. They are in a strictly rebuilding phase right now with way too many holes to fill with the money that the big signings are getting. If you want to vent, vent if it makes you feel better but it's just wasted energy.
YiGGiN4SLoBS
We had the worst secondary in the history of the NFL last year...ANY signing back there is an upgrade. Very true... We'll see if he can actually cover anyone. Somehow I doubt the bears would have dumped him if he couldAs for Zigi never spending money on FA- Totally disagree with that. Red McCombs never spent money. Zigi has always been willing to spend money to get people weather they worked out or not. Maybe it is because of the stadium hes not allowing Spielman to go after anyone this year, who knows
zepman
The 2012 version of the Viking's are in a different place than the early years of Wilf's ownership. Completely different needs. Why does any team let player X go...under your reasoning, all free agents must be no good or their own teams would have never let them walk.It is what it is... How quickly we forget. Wilf will pony up money when warranted, now's not the time in rebuilding mode.

YiGGiN4SLoBS
Rebuilding mode, super bowl mode, terrible mode, whatever.... It never hurts to add talent. Why does everybody think you have to avoid signing talent like the plague if it costs a little $$$ and your "rebuilding"? Dont get it... Teams can turn it around quickly in the NFL.Yeah the vikes may not be going anywhere this year no matter who we sign, but it can sure speed up the process by locking up a proven player or two that may cost a little more instead of throwing darts around wildly hoping one sticks.
