Key Programming in the Metro

Recommended Posts

I just picked up a 2003 F150 but the seller only had one key and one door remote. I know that I can program new remotes myself, but read that I need a new key reprogrammed professionally. Is there anywhere that someone can recommend that I go in the Metro that will program a new key for me without charging $100-$150 or am I stuck with the dealership route?

You have to have 2 working keys in order to reprogram another, if you dont it does require a programmer to do it. I have a neighbor (locksmith) that says he does them for 75 bucks.

Call around you may be able to beat that, if not, PM me.

I only had 1 key for a Ford Taurus and went to the big Ford dealership in White Bear Lake to have a new key made and programed. If I remember right it was between $60.00 and $75.00. That included the key blank.
