Jeremy airjer W
Is there a reason that you didn't install the firing before you spray foamed?
McGurk
I would have foamed and then wired, just due to the fact that if I needed to fix something down the road it was loose and accessable. Pop off the T&G planks and go to town.
Lip_Ripper Guy
I have to say that in theory it sounds good, but in practice it isn't really necessary and would be quite complicated unless you do some sort of conduit. The spray foam holds all your wiring in place, so you *shouldn't* have any problems with wiring, other than connection points. For all my running lights and connections in the walls, I use heat shrink connectors for extra safety.
Jeremy airjer W
I would have foamed and then wired, just due to the fact that if I needed to fix something down the road it was loose and accessable. Pop off the T&G planks and go to town. Furring not wiring. I'm just curious is the added 1/2 of spray foam to fill the gap left in between the current foam and the T&G would have any benefit other than not having it allows for space for wiring? McGurk
Furring not wiring... Got it. Not sure why one would need to other than lots of wire, maybe?
tip-up king
I firred it out after to make sure I had adequate room for wiring. The chances of having a problem are miniscule but if it could happen, it would be my luck, so I want my wiring accessible. I still had to shave some foam in the corners with a 4" grinder with a wire wheel. The wire wheel works awesome but, that job sucks! This is my first build of this caliber and I can't say I would have done anything different yet. I sure appreciate the other build threads that have been on here. I saved ideas I liked from many and incorporated them into my plan.

tip-up king
1 LED lights with push in style rubber housing I purchased from a local fire truck builder. I like it dark in the house at night for the most part and those will still enable me to see when I roll out of the bunk to the sound of a rattle reel.
