annasu
Let’s start with the HTC Thunderbolt. We broke the cover on this bad boy a few weeks before CES, and at that same time, we started seeing ads from HTC which claimed they would have another first to 4G. We quickly jumped on the idea that this could be out sometime in January or early February. And then it was officially announced at CES and Verizon was hesitant to give out any dates, but did mention that all of their devices would be out in the first half of 2011. Talk about a downer. The press release from HTC also removed their strong stance on being “first” and instead went with “one of the first” so we’re thinking there must be something else on the way. Down2Earth
I just left the Verizon store here in town and yes the razr was BOGO but here's the catch. So for $199.99 you get the first phone and then a $50 mail in rebate. Plus you HAVE to buy some B.S. accessory package for $179 which I don't want or need. Not much of a deal if you ask me. Down2Earth
Called Verizon on the $179 accessory package and they said that the Willmar Store isn't a corporate store and that was why they charged that amount.
Down2Earth
I really want to switch from Sprint to Verizon but now that I actually sit down and think about it after I've cooled off I have to ask you Verizon users. My Wife and I have the Family plan with everything data and any mobile to mobile and because of the new cost of $10 per smartphone our total bill will be 149.99 a month when we upgrade phones. This same plan with Verizon is going to be 179.99 a month with limited data, limited calling only 10 friends not any mobile to mobile and I use my phone for work and make a lot of calls to a lot of people. Even if I have to pay the $32 activation fee every time I upgade phones every 2 years I'm $300 dollars a head every year. I'm really struggling with this it just seems stupid to go with verizon. I could buy 3 new fishing poles every year. Just want to hear your thoughts.
PierBridge
Sounds like a no-brainer....I would stay if you are happy with the service and reception. I briefly stopped by my Verizon Store last Friday and they told me I could get a Maxx for $219. That's with $50 off for upgrade and another $30 off if I recycle my current phone with them. Luckily they didn't have any in stock and after thinking about I ended up applying those funds toward a pretty sweet Toshiba Laptop.... Last Friday I did the same, was ready to upgrade the Razr and an X2 to (2) Maxx's, but since they weren't in stock, just kept the same phones and will wait for another 6-8 months to see what comes down the line. Fathom
I am looking at getting my first smartphone but having a hard time choosing between an android phone or getting an iphone. I have verizon and my plan due to renew next month(3/16). I have been looking at the Droid 4, RAZR, Galaxy Nexus, and the iPhone. With verizons data promo going on right now I'm wondering if I should just upgrade now and take advantage of the double data or wait it out and see what kind of discount I can get on the android phones. Any suggestions/recommendations on what phone to go with and whether I should wait it out or not? Any idea how long their double data promo might last?Is there anything coming out in the next couple months I should wait for?
Elybound
Android and Iphone are both great systems. Each has many followers so you will get many answers. This is the 2nd or 3rd time in the past year Verizon has done their double data plan. I'm sure it will happen again in the near future. Most of the time it only last 2 weeks. The quad-core phones are coming soon with 1080p screens, possibly starting July time frame. Phone technology changes every 4-6 months so you will always kick yourself for not waiting.
LwnmwnMan2
My Razor Maxx should be here by the end of the week.I got so fed up with my Razr's battery life, I went in and upgraded. All I hear is how great the "talk time" is.I'll see how good the battery is when you're streaming. If it's not remarkably better, I'll return it, put my Razr up for sale, and go back to my Droid X2 with the extended battery. LwnmwnMan2
FWIW, I just rooted my Maxx. It's WAY WAY WAY easier than rooting the X.Basically download a batch, click run, and the phone is rooted.
