mmeyer
I was given a 4x8 Mankato that I converted to a spearing shack. I am kinda sorta thinking I might leave it out once in a while. I see canvas houses out sometimes, does anyone do that? Is it just a bad idea? Thanks
TruthWalleyes
Just be sure to have it licensed if leaving in overnight unattended...I doubt there would be a way to prevent people from stealing it - so that's your choice.

mmeyer
Thanks guys. Something to think about. I'd hate to lose it but it would be nice if I'm going out the next day. We'll see how it goes. I sure wish we could be driving out. It would make things a lot easier wouldn't it?

brakedancer
I have also left my mankato out..for various reasons..if it is banked and froze in nice and won't be windy..but I have also found it laying on its side a hundred yards from where it was.they are amazingly durable.I also have let the canvas down so the wind doesn't catch it.. wish you luck
tca12
If I leave a portable overnight I'm usually coming out again the next morning here in the Metro. Canvas can get weighed down if it snows much. It is nice not to have to cut another hole though. Good tip about the reflectors and license too! mmeyer
Thanks again Everyone! Great tips. I'll have to figure out some reflectors. Shouldn't be a big deal.
MJ1657
Thanks again Everyone! Great tips. I'll have to figure out some reflectors. Shouldn't be a big deal. Buy some strips of the red and white reflective material they put on semi trailers. Stick it on the poles. I think wal mart and even menards sells it. Look in the trailer light section.
