Lets see some pics of your wheel or permanent houses!

Pushbutton, WhiskeyPete, and Upnorth, I really like the idea of a skid house especially after seeing your pics. A wheelhouse is years out of the budget for me but i really like the added space in a skid house. Couple questions though: How much 'stuff' do you feel comfortable leaving out there when your not around? Do you use a resort to do the pulling and storing? DO you find you do more fishing knowing that the shack is all setup?

THanks,

Kidmoe

Was that finished by Ice Castle? Looks very similar to the finishing Fish N Style does...at any rate I like that Ice Castle. Nice home premium windows, and what looks to be quality finishing. Good buy!

EDIT: Now i'm wondering if my Yetti dealer isn't sending those units off to Ice Castle to be finished? I mean, they have all the same dinettes, couches, and light housings as the lake of the woods models. Does not sit well with me....

As another Yetti dealer, I know and work with Matt @ Fish-N-Style and can with out a doubt tell you that Ice Castle is NOT finishing his houses. The guys that are finishing the Yetti houses are using the some of the same interior components simply because they are a good value, best quality, or readily available, etc. Hope this clears things up for you!

I have to chuckle, everywhere I go with my Yetti (been hauling it around to get supplies for the finishing) people ask me if they can see it. I was headed down to the Twin Cities with it and had at least 6 people ask to see it. Maybe if I haul it around enough I should get a discount from a Yetti dealer on my next one for all the referrals. grin

Doc, I bought the house with the awning already on it. Although I have taken it off before and is very easy (with two people). It does not get in the way for ice fishing at all. It stays rolled up and out of the way and doesn't add a whole lot of wait so I've decided it's easiest just to leave it on all the time. It's an awesome addition for the one or two times I use it in the summer.

Vman, I love the idea of hanging the cooking equipment on the ceiling... Thinking of building a smaller house in a year or two and think that is really a GREAT idea. I hope you don't mind, but I think I am going to have to steal that idea.

I'm thinking that with this weather mine isn't going to get used much this winter.

Clueless, let me know how you like that front door placement after a few slushy trips. I looked at that also and was concerned with the thing freezing up with slush then cold temps while driving. Then I decided to go a different way and found the RV edition for almost a steal of a deal. I am thinking it may be a Red Lake trip in order to get mine on a lake anytime soon.

Here's to good fishin'

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
