Won a gun!

I just got word yesterday that I won a gun from a drawing. I don't know much about the thing, so where better to check than here. It is a Henry Goldenboy .17HMR. Sounds like a nice gun, but does anyone here have any info on them??? Thanks for the help!

I dont know much about a henry hmr

I have a savage HMR and its a very nice little tack driver. However if your planning on keeping it our selling it remeber if you fire one shot its automatically looses value ( found that out the hard way )

It's a reproduction of the old Henry Goldenboy lever in a modern rimfire cartridge. Congratulations - I think you will like it, especially if you are into older guns.

I have a friend with a henry lever action 22 and17hmr. They aren't golden boys. It they slick little shooters. I love the hmr round and if you do any kind of small game hunting you will be amazed at the accuracy this round is capable of and damge it can do too

Henry makes a standard model and a Goldenboy with a brass receiver. They also make a pump which is modeled after the old Winchester pump action .22.

I have a Goldenboy in 22lr. Shoots great, action is smooth and the trigger is not too bad for a lever. Looks awsome with the brass receiver. If you are interested in selling I am interested in buying.

just did a quick search, neat little gun. Looks to have a value new of about 400 bills or so.

Nice gun. I know someone who just got that gun for free, doing a little contract work for Henry Arms.

IMO the 17's are a little pricey to plink with and it takes some effort to get out and use it on smaller varmints. The rounds are just a bit too expensive to shoot up cans.

I agree which is why i own 2 .22's for plinking. My 17 hmr is used for hunting squirrels and rabbits if they hop through the forest at the right time. It is a great small game rifle and i feel comfortable shooting it way past 22 lr range.

I love my 17 Darn accurate load. That Henry will be a cool lever.
