Lets see everyones first fish through the ice 2011-12

Got out on some early ice in SW MN this morning, the ice is about 4" and is clear and strong. Also bumped into a couple Walleyes, doesn't get any better than that!

Hey Suxatcatchineyes or anybody else, Is that H2O holder attached to your Vexilar a custom job or something you purchased to attach it on there like that. Looks pretty handy. I'm always fumbling around with mine in my pocket. Thanks

I just put a 1" ram ball on my Vex and used the ram mount from the boat. It gets to be a pain having to pull it out of the pocket all the time. It worked great today! I bought the ball from amazon, they also have the holders for the H20 on there.

Agronomist_at_IA I have the H2O in a ram mount, and just put a ram ball on the ultra pack. Works very well!

Fatty, I was on Lime and Oaks yesterday. They both had 3 inches or so.

I'm wondering if a 40 inch auger or an ice saw was used to pull in the big ugly one.

I think what people are asking is how is the ram attached to the gimbal bracket? Do you have a pic of ram where it attaches?

I had a great morning, caught 25-30 crappies about the size of this one. They were all suspended about about 6 ft off the bottom in 13 feet of water. And 6 eyes all in the 14-18 inch range, they were tight to the bottom anywere from 12-18feet deep.

Finally put a Pout on the ice. Took almost a half dozen (short) trips to land this little guy, hopefully it will pick up now that the seal is broken. With January just around the corner it can only get better!

Anybody else have first fish of the season to post up?

My first fish this year was a tiny bluegill, today. I had the camera along, but this thing wasn't quite camera material. Not sure that there are many first fish pictures out there..
