Hunter heart attack in deer stand near Thorpe, WI

Recommended Posts

A buddy of mine came across a bunch of emergency vehicles, etc this weekend near Thorpe, WI. Was told that a hunter had a heart attack in his tree stand. Does anybody know about this, and most importantly, did he/she make it!? How do you get an immobile/ill hunter out of a tree stand? That must take some time...

Update: heard that he was an 87 year old, found by his buddies. He was hanging from a tree by his safety harness. No way to tell if he had a heart attack, died, and fell. Or fell and had a heart attack trying to get back in his stand.

87. I'm thinking a comfy chair at grade for myself, if I make it!

I always hate to hear about that kind of thing. But I hope I'm in a deer stand or fishing when my time is up.

My nephews have agreed that when I'm too old to climb into a stand, they will hoist me up into a tree with a block and tackle and come back every few hours to feed me LOL!

The guy who owned my hunting land died of a heart attack during season and the land sat idle for 20yrs. under the family ownership. I bought it and got two 10 pointers in 2 yrs. may be somebody is helping me! wink
