Zone 1 here I come, but we will see what develops, definitely on stand tomorrow night before the weather and if it doesn't happen Saturday AM etc. Haven't seen a deer in a month around the farm near Mora, but as famous musky fisherman Ted Roos would say, right place right time and my dad's motto, it only takes a few seconds. I need this buck that has been rubbing darn near telephone sized trees to get his nocturnal butt out of bed and let me have a peek at him. Since no one deer hunts the section but me and road hunters, I think he's still kickin.

1john, if you drive by our section at midnite there's quite a few in our yards, that is somewhat surprising to me that on Nov. 16th they are still polishing off the acorns then again, there are 0 crops around, most everything is plowed under and most planted beans and remembering last spring the farmers plowed like crazy this fall because it took em forever to get at it last May. 110 miles away where I hunt the most by the end of september they are done with acorns so it seems kinda strange, but I have few, very few squirrels around for some reason so there they lay waiting for midnite goats to gobble em up. My yard is caked with deer droppings, but I haven't seen a deer there all season. Smart, nocturnal, strong survive to keep the specie goin. Will be interesting to report like Monday how it all went for us Zone 1 guys this wkd. A tidbit, 11:00AM-3:00PM is the time frame of the people I talked to this gun season that bagged a mature buck, they saw 0's in the early AM and late PM.

The "yard" deer at my place here north of mora went nocturnal for the first time I've ever seen this year 2-3 weeks before rifle season. They weren't even being hunted, and I'd see them every other afternoon in the daylight before. No doe's or fawns seen here yet this season, and no 1.5 yr old bucks either? A very strange season?

Same here really, I have no dog so they over the years always felt medium comfortable but yes by mid-october, completely nocturnal with no goose, pheasant, duck or bow hunters and no trappers, left it alone and never walked even close to where they bed ? Will this snow event help get them moving ? It should, but it was such a strange year/fall. Thing is up in Ottertail county many are experiencing the same thing, seeing a few fawns and yearling bucks, but basically 0 does and mature bucks yet the tcams showed a fair amount so it's midnite madness.
