SAVE THE TALLOW FROM YOUR DEER

Recommended Posts

just a little tip for the people who have bird feeders and hunt our great whitetails. carve the fat off your deer and save it in amounts that you can use at a time and freeze it. i just put out some deer tallow and the birds are going nuts over it. good luck.

Another good one is to hang the whole rib cage up in a tree. Doesn't look the best but the birds love it.

Squirrels,Downy woodpeckers, chickadees, bluejays and pileated woodpeckers love em. Just try to snug it up to a branch though otherwise she'll spin pretty good in the wind.

I eat the ribs so I just save all scraps and tallow. I live in a small town and it's amazing the birds that find my pile in back yard. All the smaller birds, crows, blue jays, fox, even had a eagle once. Two boxes last all winter and only thing left in spring is the big bones picked clean that I throw away after spring thaw. Put out the back bones of 2 deer and already have crows and other birds honing in on them.
