Magical time of the year for many of us! Went out this morning before work for 40 minutes - nothing moving. Have to take my 18 mo old treating tonight so no Halloween buck for me this year. The good news is I start vacation tomorrow!

Thats the coolest pumpkin ever!! If you carved that then I need to take lessons, mine consist of triangle eyes and nose and a mouth!

I shot my first P&Y on Halloween night. I will probably remember that night a few times during the day.

Yep, annual tradition - carved her up last night! I do a bowhunting one every year. Tried to incorporate the recurve this year!

Amazing work stick! I'm also passing up hunting to take the kids out tonight, however the rest of the week the bucks are in danger.

Pretty hard to get out when the young kids have to go Trick or Treating. Lots of season left.

I was able to go and was hoping for a Halloween treat with one of my shooters to come in.

No such success, had a little doe, okay a fawn come in and mill around for 15-20 minutes.

Worked out good for me this year as the kiddos were at their mothers, and I took the day off work. Headed out to the stand around noon and sat until dark. Like to tell you that I shot the grandpappy of all bucks, but just didn't happen. Had three does come in around 430-500. Decided that I was going to pop the lead doe and put some meat in the freezer. They were just moving along nice and easy and were on the trail to come broadside of me at 10 yards. Was getting ready to draw when the last doe picked me off through the brush, so I froze. Of course at this time the big doe stopped dead broadside in my lane at 10 yards. I still couldn't move. Big doe walked dead straight away from me with the smaller does following.....no shot. Kept looking to see if perhaps a buck might be following, but no dice. Still an awesome night, but not as much movement as I had hoped for. Think the wind might have had something to do with it.
