JPenny
Here's a shot of my wife, Mary, with a porker she caught this past June. This old girl has traveled all over the North with me chasing big pike for 35 years now and has caught a lot of them.

cjac
Hi Jack, Just want to say thanks for coming on board here and sharing your knowledge with us, it is quite a treat really! Thanks! I spent a weekend last Fall on the Rainy River fishing for sturgeon with RK, so naturally there's a lot of down time for story telling over three days anchored in a boat. He told me he was lucky enough to know, hands-down & no question, the best pike angler in North America.......Mary Penny. Great to have you on this site! JPenny
Thanks Chris. I'm not sure how accurate RK was, but I'll say this, she's tough to beat. We usually have a friendly competition while in the boat, counting only pike over 20lbs. On one trip last year, Mary had me down 7 to 3 halfway through the trip. Believe me, I really had to get with it to catch up! Luckily, I finished up the trip beating out Mary with a score of 11 to 10. But it sure wasn't easy! And there has been plenty of times (more than I like to think about) that she put it to the ole' man.

JPenny
Yes, that was a pretty good one. Here's another she caught a couple of days later. This is kind of a special pike for Mary. She caught this 25lb'er on our daughters 25th birthday.

JPenny
That was a good one for the memory banks Reinhard. I originally wanted to post a photo of one Mary caught that was much bigger but the file is too large to post. That old girl has caught more giant pike than most guys I know, and I know a lot of them.
reinhard1
many more than I for sure. Good for her, i think its great. i'm haveing trouble just posting one picture of anything on here. my son in law is going to stop by sometime and see what the problem is. probably something between my ears . sharing stories and photo's is a good thing. good luck. JPenny
Well, I'm computer challenged at best. But I did discover one thing funny about posting photos here. As I mentioned earlier, I had tried to post a photo and got a window informing me that the file was too big. After looking at that photo and the ones I could post, the big difference is what's in the background. The photo I couldn't post included more detail, like rocks and a creek. The one I was successful with only had a river shoreline in the background. Like you, I need troubleshooters too. My wife & daughter take care of most of them. Nick Kuhn
That's because of the way the jpeg codec works. It's a differentiating compression method, so anything with sharp contrast in colors quickly increases the file size. It's also why the jpeg codec is a terrible choice for pictures of text. JPenny
Well, thanks for the explaination Nick. Computer skills are not my strong suit, but I understand.
