123fish
I usually get out with the caller and give it a try or two when the season opens. I have been seeing a few family groups around so I'll probably give it a go.

crawler harness
Actually a small game license is required along with being HIP certified since the crow is migratory bird. But I do not think this is highly enforced seeing that they are crows. Good luck, shoot as many as you can
Finlander
Crawlwer Harness, sorry but no license is required or HIP certification! If you recall when they ask you how many birds you shot last season they never mention crows! Been hunting crows along time and the game wardens never asked me to show them a license. Better check out the lawbook to confirm for your peace of mind!
srfishin15
Just to be clear, it opens saturday the 16th then? DNR site is down so i couldn't check myself.

fishinjosh98
what is a good gauge for them?
life=outdoors92
what is a good gauge for them? anything. use what you got. i prefer 6 shot to knock em down, but i have seen 7.5s and 8s take down plenty.
fishinjosh98
how does size 6 magnum 20 gauge sound
life=outdoors92
sounds fine. just shoot whatever u got or whats cheapest. they're crows, not a big deal. i have shot them cleanly with 28 gauge, but hit them with a 12 gauge (bb shot) at 15 yards and it kept going. they will drop with anything u shoot at them, trust me. i dropped them this spring with a 20 gauge full choke 6-8 shot cause that's what i had left over from grouse season. my buddy was using a 12 gauge improved cylinder with the same loads and we all hit the same number of birds. get them within 40 yards (which isn't too hard with an e caller and normal dekes) and it will not matter
lispeej
Do folks shoot crows for a sport or for eating?
walleyeking19
sporting. Its more to save eggs from birds like pheasants and ducks that the crows usually eat. Plus crow hunting keeps your skills sharp for other kinds of hunting
life=outdoors92
i have heard of people eating them and enjoying it. i think Crow Busters has a recipe or two on their site. i have never tried it...
