Foggy Flatty

Pretty neat night on the river last night. BoilerGuy Eric, made the trek from Avoca to spend the night chasing some kitties with WWG and I.

The fog rolled in well before dark and it felt like we were fishing in a cloud. Kind of like being in a Rainforest or something.

The fishing was slow, but the company was good and we hopped around looking for a hungry fish.

Eric had the first run, but came up a bit short as the hook pulled out, then it was John's turn and he landed a smaller one and then Eric set the hook on a small Flatty which was his first one he's ever caught.

Moved again, and waited. Just as we were about to leave, THUMP! The bobber rod got smoked and John said, "here's your chance Eric". Eric takes the rod and sets the hook into a nice fish. A few minutes later the fish was swimming away and it was time to leave.

Eric got a small taste of a decent Flathead fight and a peek into our lives as hardcore Cat Chasers. Thanks for spending the night with us. It was fun.

they were poppin on the miss, all fish were small in the 30-35 inch range.

That really was a GREAT time and iffin yous guys ever get a chance to go fishin with WWG or DarrEN..............DO IT!!!!! Good times with awesome guys, amazing scenery, whippin catties in the boat, oh.......and they say the fishing was slow but we still managed to boat a few.

Good times.

Yeah, I Deitzed my first one, and I thought I hexed the whole night but John put us back in the game and landed a nice fish. We hung out for a bit, moved a bit, hung out a bit, caught a few, and had one helluva good time. I went home tired and smellin like fish. Just the way it should be. Thanks again fellas. I needed it.

The fog, while making it an interesting boat ride back to the landing, was really cool. I couldn't see a thing and had no problem riding in the boat with these guys. They know what they're doing.

The only thing I can say after our last night out is I can't wait to do it again.

My first flattie........As I was told....ahem..........."It's a fish, goat head and reel it in. " For the record, they don't have to be huge to be fun.

A foggy night on the river beats a night at home looking at the ole lady.

Oh, it wasn't all me. I was pretty much just along for the ride.

Yep those two sure have fun and are a great pair to learn from. I rode the Harley up last year and spent the night in the River Pro with them and broke my cherry! It was a blast and I can't wait to do it again!

Nice job Eric! Congrats. I took the dog for a walk that night and it was FOGGY! I was hoping you didn't see any Minnesota River Mermaids in the haze of fog and PBR.
