I have a Remington 700 BDL in 300 Win Mag. I have been using the Federal PowerShok (blue box) 180 grain Speer ammo the last few years. I have groups of around 2-3 inches at 100 yards, and use it for deer hunting.

I have been using this ammo because it is cheap and had a decent grouping. But would like to get it dialed in now.

So I was wondering, for those of you that have this gun, what premium ammo do you use to get tighter groups?

Thanks!

my future son-in law has the remington as well at the 150 grain. he and the rifle are very accurate. last year was his first year deer hunting ever. dropped two 8 pointers with almost the same place behind the shoulder both times with scope and typical northern minnesota woods. good luck.

Browning A-bolt throwing out 200 grain trophy bondeds in Federal Premium. Bought a case many years ago and got the group to < 1 inch @ 100 yards. My gun liked the heavier bullets.

Now my only problem is if I don't shoot it more I get the magnum flinch and mess up a little. Last year though I forced myself to practice with just a t-shirt on. It worked. Point being the rifle usually shoots better than the shooter. wink

I shoot (or shot) a Rem 700P... It LOVED the super heavy weights. Although not exactly a hunting round, the 208gr. A-Max grouped freakishly well. One ragged hole at 100 and sub MOA out to 500. Minute of deer to 1K. Last I heard, this gun was down in Arizona ringing steel at a mile.

Talk about seller remorse. frown
