Kyle
What is the most comfortable, durable, and warm(when needed) Danner specific hunting boot?
wormdunker
I used Danner for 10-12 years. Klettierlift and Grouse, uninsulated. Great boots but I was having wear problems. Last year I switched to Meindl By Cabelas Denali. I am really impressed with this boot. I saw very little wear, they are really comfortable. They are the driest bot I have ever worn. LovenLifeGuy
I have used pronghorns for the past 5 years. However, I have purchased new ones every year or had to send them in to danner to get them fixed or new ones. They fit like no other boot I have put on my foot, but I have to agree that the wear is just not that good. I can't wear cabelas boots, I have bought several pairs and they just don't fit me right. Also, my upland boots are always uninsulated. I have hunted in 20 below and if i am walking my feet will not get cold.

CaptainMusky
Pronghorns are not a very good danner boot. They do not stand up real well in my opinion.I have 6 years of hard stomping on my Danner High Country boots and they are in great shape yet.I had a set of Danner Ospreys before those and they lasted me almost 10 before I replaced them.Lots of miles on both pair and some very long days and never any issues with wear or comfort.Make sure the boot is almost all leather because the cordura stuff just doesnt hold up especially in the toe area. 311Hemi
However, I have purchased new ones every year or had to send them in to danner to get them fixed or new ones. Tried the Pronghorn once, never again. Wore the stitching out on the toe box after one season of hunting (maybe 10 trips). Danner refunded my money and I spent the money to purchased a much better quality boot....even though it cost me a good amount more.Another thing I found only after wearing the boots a number of days is they did not fit my narrow foot very well and ended up with horrible pain on the back of my heels. I have since learned that there are not many boots out there for very narrow feet but I have located a few and finally found one that fit very nice. fivebucks
I went with a US made pair of Danners, the 200 gram Hood Winter boots. they were spendy but I hope to get 10 years out of them. My pronghorns leaked at the end of season 1. The reviews on Danner's HSOforum is pretty non-biased. They tell the good and the bad unedited as far as I can tell. It appeared to me if they were made overseas they didn't last but if made in US they lasted and cost double.
Capt'nMorgan
+2 on the bad wear,,, 6 weeks and all the stitching was coming loose on the toe guard. I wore them through Ice fishing them brought them for a full refund.. I am also trying to decide what to buy for this year. I did research last year and found something I thought I would like but I was wrong.
Steve Foss
I've had my Pronghorns for going on two years, and in spring/fall are almost the only things I wear on my feet in the woods. They already have many hundreds of miles on them, both for woods work and sometimes for handyman/maintenance work. The fit (I have an EE foot) is amazing. They fit perfectly and were comfortable right out of the box. And there's no wearing ot fraying/breaking of the stitching, or any other problems. Certainly possible I gat an exceptionally good pair.
