I've got a D55IR and a D65IR. I had a strong recommendation on the D55IR from a friend.

I just started using them this spring so I don't have too much experience with them yet. Overall I like them both, although I'm not real happy with the trigger time, it seems a little slow. But I need to get more pics and video off them to say for sure.

The pics and video I've got so far seem really good, considering the cameras were only $120 each. And the battery life has been great judging from the little diplay that tells me how much battery life is remaining.

I have 3 of the Moultrie game spy 4.0. 1 of them the flash went out of last fall. I also bought 2 of the 6.0 outfitter(D65 IR I think) mid to late summer last year. Those have been really good units also. I really like the battery life in the IRs compared to the white flash. I am just wandering if anyone has tried either of these new ones yet. I am thinking of buying the M-80. These look to be very compareable to the bushnell trophy cam. I geuss maybe I might have to be the 1st to give a review on the M-80. I wonder how mad the wife would be if I ordered one whistleeek...

sorry JB kind a took ur question on a tangent there, Havent heard anything about those but if moultrie build them there probably good units. As far as trigger speed cuddy probabley cant be beat but then bear hunters dont really need to worry about that to much, i dont any way, cause the bait keeps them in front of the camera longer, Id use a cuddy for deer, wat are the specs an features on the M-80? boar

I myself consider it a confidence factor, Spooking game, altho i dont think there is way to determine that, flash spooks for one dosent for another, Ive used flash before, an just dont like it, Had a bear in the evening shooting hours the first night he showed, FLASH one pic, stayed nocturnal after that, cant 100 percent say it was the flash but dont have the confidence that is wasnt either. personal preference I guesse. Worth the money to feel confident I guesse. Boar

I have a one flash camera out of a fleet of IR cameras and I feel the flash blew two bear off two seprate baits. The first pic was fine and the second pic was the bear giving the camera a staredown from about 30 yards out. Tracks showed a speedy exit before the third pic.

Also, the money saved not buying batteries all the time will make up the difference in price. The first 3 I bought were white flash, now that I have tried IR I will not go back to white flash cameras.

I had been reading reviews on C hasinggame and the M-80 seems to be getting good reviews. So I ordered 1 up yesterday. Found it for $100 on bow hunting outlet. I needed to replace one of my white flash cameras any way since the flash went out of it last fall. Can't wait to try it out. Can't wait for the wife's dirty looks eek....

JB and Boar. I bought one of those moultrie I-R 50's for 65.00 and put it out for a week to see what kind of pictures it took. It actually took some very nice pics. The only thing is I have it facing SW and at sundown it takes about 2 white pics. Also I have it on a 5" diameter tree and it blows here in SW minn. all the time. Which in turn moves the cam and that gives me alot of blank pic's. ( 57 )

Hello:

I am strongly considering either the M80 or M100. I think the M100 has a viewing screen. Do you guys think a viewing screen is important? It would seem to be a very useful feature. I have never had a game camera...always thought them to be a luxury item but really want one for bear. Also, any other difference between the two other than the megapixel? Any more comments on recent use?

Thanks

As far as a viewing screen, if its your only camera and you don't have a card reader or digital camera to view in the field it would be nice. I have close to 20 cameras and not one with viewer, I switch out cards

And use a card reader so I can save any pictures I like to my pc later and look at them at the time I switch cards in the field. If It's your only cameras and you don't have anything to look at them when in field get one with the viewer. If you are going to get more than one camera at some point and if they all don't have them all have viewers I don't see the point in just one having a viewer.

I have one camera with a viewing screen, thought itd be great, BUT..... the screen is only an inch square. Cant see much. Can see if bear is there but sometimes cant see if a bear or animal is there till I get it on a larger screen. Plus... I dont want to sit there anylonger than I have to when baiting. I dont wanna half to sit an study animals, an "time" wen i can quickly swap out cards like jay an study them at home. viewing screen is not needed for me. Get a good camera or viewer. Chris, hay man nice pics. U like the cam? I whish I could techy an download pics I had my primos 46 out at 35 or so yards an it took awsome pics in the field. Boar

So far I am liking the new M-80. I don't see the need for the viewer either, other then like Jay said, you can adjust the cam if needed. I haven't found the to be a issue though either. There are some pretty good deals on the M-80 on the e b a y. Boar, loading pics is really easy. You can load them right from your PC. Before you used to have them on photobucket or something like that. Just above where you type your responses, 4 squares over from the yellow smiley face is a square with a symbol that has an orange square(I think it is a mini pic of a sunrise) with a blue arrow. Just click that and it will let you browse your PC for pics and upload them from there. Give that a try.

The thing is I have to load them to my computer first, actually from card to flash drive to computer. Actually, i have a top of the line cannon camera that I use to view pics with so then from camera to computer. I just dont do it enough to get good at it.

That would most definately help. Practice, practice, practice. I load all of mine to the computer, that is where I prefer to view them. We like to go through them at home and be suprised.

Not yet. The first pics I had the camera on some state land near the house. I brought it down to our hunting land a little over a month ago. Hoping to go and check those sometime soon. Maybe after it cools off some so I can bundle up to keep the skeets away. I had seen some nights pics on some review web sites and they were really bright.
