It ain't going to be cold forever, supposed to be in the mid sixties today. BWCA for a few days over Memorial Day weekend for me. How about you? Did you find a primitive campsite to try?

I don't know about Memorial Day weekend, but I'm headed to Voyageurs the weekend before. I'll be bringing my 30-degree bag and a layer of long underwear. The shorts and tee shirts will be staying home.

Hey Red, have not decided yet about memorial day weekend. But I plan to try Voyagers out this summer. Nige, have you fished Bear Head that early before? I am curious on how well the fishing is this time of year. I also would bring the Buddy Heater, you never know, it may snow that weekend up there!

On Rainy Lake, the Canadian side. We've woken up to sub 20F temps before. It's not so bad if you have the right gear. Luckily by then I learned that a cot isn't a good cold weather sleeping choice.

This year is shaping up to be the same cold condition. Considering I caught my PB walleye and pike on cold trips, I'm not too upset about the weather! cool

Goal for this year: Walleyes on the fly.

Never been to that area before. Only living here since Dec 2009. Dont have a boat yet so will be renting one of the state park boats for a day fishing.
