Ok...It is nearly fair time! What is everyones favorite fair food??? Mine is the corn dog (or pronto pup??)...can't wait! We are driving up from TX on 9/2 and will be at the fair bright and early on Friday am!!!! Just to be able to kick back with a steaming, mustard covered pronto pup in one hand and an ice cold beer in the other and watch all the people!!! That is worth the 16 hour drive.

We are continuing our journey north on Saturday when we head up to Ely for some fishing in the BWCA!!

Life is good!

Last year we tried this thing that I think was called a scotish egg. It was and egg, wrapped in sausage, dipped in some sort of batter and fried. Top that off with a little horseradish, and you got your self a meal. and yes it was on a stick.

Foot long hot dogs... Pork chops are good too. Have to go for a cheese curd... crab cakes...and lots more.

It is actually a test to see how much you can eat and still make it to the car. Then on the way out you forgot to get a turkey leg so you detour.

Definetly the FOOT LONG Pronto Pup, Chop on a stick, Lemondade to wash it down, then the Chcolate Chip cookies as a desert for the first meal!

Might want to change this to "What Fair foods to avoid." wink.gif Honestly I've never made it to the state fair. I hit the county fair and consider it good, then again I don't like the Cities, or crowds too much for that matter.

I like those big buckets of french fries! The pickle on a stick comes a close 2nd.
(Both sauted with beer of course).

Bring warm clothes for the BWCA. It's been a cool summer this year and it was below freezing last night in parts of the arrowhead. What part of BWCA are you going to?

What a topic! These are my personal faves: pork chop on a stick, cheese curds, the bucket o' fries, MINI DONUTS, and wash it all down with a couple of 16oz Leinie's Honey Weiss w/ a lemon wedge!! Could write more but I gotta stop there. Only half-way through my shift and I forgot to pack a lunch...

See ya at the fair,

Manny

Echotrail....
Going to Moose Lake chain. Warm clothes are packed in the "space bag" and ready to go...Only 12 days till we hit the road :-) After 16 hours in a care with our dog, I will be ready for a corn dog and an ice cold beer!!!

echotrail - I like your handle. I see you're retired. Have you got a place up there?

I'll put my vote in for the old standby, Pronto Pups, which is the first stand I'll stop at on my way in. Also, always got to stop at the milk stand for a cold glass between barley consumption. Like someone else said, I'll start eating when I get there and stop when I leave.
