Phoenix bass boats

Did anyone have a chance to look at the Phoenix boats that were at the Sportshow?

I had heard of them for a few years and read about them but had not sat or crawled around one. Nice attention to detail, great fit and finish and well thought out. Not crazy about the graphics but overall a real nice boat. Now that Southside Marine has pulled them in and Simply Fishing is offering Legends and Tritons, all that's missing is a Bass Cat dealer up here and we will have the whole selection.

TR21HP-I went to the show to see both the Phoenix and Legend. I have to say the Phoenix is an awesome boat. You are 100% correct fit finish, along with the attention to detail is awesome, second to none IMO. I really liked the Legend however, and hope to be fishing out of one sooner than later! Not that there was a single thing wrong with the Phoenix, just liked the Legend more.

BHT,

The Legend is a beautiful boat as well, in fact, had I a little more money available last year I would have bought the Alpha 211 that they had at the show last year but it was a little too much to spend at the time.

First off, newer Phoenix are an awesome boats. Last time I heard the company had problems and was purchased by another builder so I make make sure you still get good service if you do decide to purchase one. The infamous bass boat crash on youtube scares me every time I hear about Legend boats but that was driver error. These two boats are awesome boats but I still have to give it to the cat for fishability.

-Edit- Correction, I think Phoenix purchased the Bee Line.

If we are talking pure fishability I'd have to say the 58K FX Skeeter at the show is probably the most fishable boat I've ever been in. Some Cat models are just too narrow in the front but don't get me wrong, the Eyra is by far the finest boat I've ever seen period. Just making comments about both Phoenix and Legend relating to their quality and fishability.

Yessir, not trying to start anything. I own something else besides a cookie cutter but I still appreciate their spacious decks and stability. I've been down to TN and seen both Phoenix and Legend boats. They're awesome boats, attention to detail is superb but I couldn't convince the wife to buy any 3 seater bassboat.

I like how Phoenix made room for an 800/900 Humminbird series at the bow and console. Great improvement since people are going with larger units today.

Both are very nice boats but the price between Phoenix and Legend size per size

is pretty dramatic. Plus Phoenix has a lot of neat little features no one else offers plus they have more standard features that are add on's on most other lines.

The net storage and the removeable console are really neat innovations. Their tackle storage is pretty neat too.

Hey TB,

I looked at the Legend at the sportshow but didn't get a chance to see the Phoenix. Which boat is more expensive size for size? The Legend is a really nice boat but I think my Toon has a lot more storage than even the 211. How do the Phoenix compare storage wise?

From what I have seen the price difference is pretty close, the Phoenix may be a little more. I think all of the bass boat manufacturers are doing the removable console now. One thing I dont like is the narrow front deck, really wish it was a little wider. Also on the phoenix 19.5 footer the deck is the same size as there 18 footer. Instead of making the front casting deck bigger they made the rear deck bigger. Thought that was kind of odd.

Also I am not sure how I feel about that Lazy Susan in the Phoenix. Alot of guys are complaining about it and have removed it.

Storage wise I think the Phoenix has more to square footage dedicated to storage. The Legend doesn't utilize the space under the but seat of front which only leaves one middle compartment on the front deck.

I really like the storage on Triton and from what I have seen and priced you can get a lot of boat for the money. They have a 19se which is the same hull as there 19xs and its 19'8" with a 225 pro xs. The 2011's are pricing out at around 37k

Hey SuperDuty,

Hows the wrist? Or should I say wrist's. lol Legend is more when you compare apples to apples. Simply Fishing is going to have a 191 Legend that a customer ordered coming in that I really want to see. Legend is suppose to have the ride of a Champ but with better storage, at least compared to the older units. I don't think it has less storage of your boat, but then again, not many do equal yours. I've looked and talked to a lot of people about both. Not sure about the lazy susan myself.Just doens't sound like it is very well built but that could just be me. Great idea for the space when they can't put another lid because of seat base positioning.

If you are talking about the one where the guy is jumping the wake of another and flips that is a Stroker not a Legend.
