Prayer for an Avid FIsherman & his family

One of my best friends that I met in college just learned that his Dad has not much longer to live (His dad is in late 50's).

They found cancer on his liver less then two years ago and has been going through chemo. Doctors have decided to pull him off the chemo and let him live out his life.

The father, and both sons are all avid fisherman but don't get to fish often being from Illinois. But frequently made a trip up to Canada. Not since they found the cancer.

Please keep the Matug family in your prayers and hopefully there will be a miracle in the near future and they will all fish together again!

Thanks in advance!

FATHER

4 years: "My Daddy can do anything."

7 years: "My Dad knows alot, a whole lot."

10 years: "My Father doesn't know quite everything."

12 years: "Oh, well, naturally Father doesn't know that either."

14 years: "Father? Hopelessly old-fashioned."

21 years: "Oh, that man is out of date. What did you expect?"

25 years: "He knows a little bit about it, but not much."

30 years: "Maybe we ought to find out what Dad thinks."

35 years: "Let's ask Dad what he would do before we make a decision."

40 years: "I wonder what Dad would have thought about that. He was pretty smart."

50 years: "My dad know absolutely everything!"

60 years: "I'd give anything if Dad were here so I could talk this over with him. I really miss that man."

Avid fisherman looses his life to cancer...
Or so the obituary should read in the fisherman’s world. My buddy’s dad died over the Labor Day weekend and we are heading down this morning for the wake & funeral tomorrow.
Saw some of his catches in Canada, frequently eclipsing the 45" - 50" muskie mark when he took his sons up there. One hel l of a family man always putting his family first down to the very last day.
Only thing he did not have right in his life was he was a life long Sox fan, but I suppose on this one week out of the year I will forgive him.
God Bless the Matug family and long live Alex Matug's Sr. fishing stories from Canada!!
