Strikemaster auger

fishing tech

Question

I bought a new Lazer express last Tuesday. Did the waurantee form on line. Went out of town ice fishing Wednesday to Sunday. Well on Saturday one of the blades came off and well is at the bottum of the lake. Do you think they will help me out or is this my fault? Probably drilled a couple hundred holes in those 4 days.

I bet they will help you out. The rubber strap being busted would perturb me. How can QC be so bad that they missed that? Have them give you a new strap too...even if you don't use it.

PS, I have a Lazer Mag Express too, and it's cut many a hole over 3 years with no problems...OK, only minor problems.

I am happy to say that they are sending me new blades. This is the 2nd Strikemaster I have bought and it probably won't be the last with service like that. My other auger is over 10 years old and still runs great but I wanted to update. Thanks for the help.

Just recently at late ice I have noticed my blades loosening up frequently as well. I think it is the change in temp? Both my hand Lazer and power Lazer blades wiggled loose. Could also be a late ice thing too?

Good tip is to check them. I just about lost a blade the other day too, lost one bolt. I had extra bolts on hand in my rod bag so I was able to get it fixed. Pays to keep a few of them on hand from old blade sets just in case.

Got my new blades today. What great service!! They also sent a Strikemaster decal. I will be putting that on the truck window before I put the blades on.

I hope somebody from Lowrance is reading this... smirk

The person I talked to at Strikemaster told me the the auger was 3 years old. She then asked me where I had bought it. I gave her the name of the store she took my info and said the blades will be shipped the next day. So I got a great deal on a new auger and great customer service. Thanks Strikemaster I will continue to by your products.

Ok, I have since been able to use the auger after installing the new blades. Drilled about 10-15 holes and one of the blades cracked. I replaced the blade and drilled 3 more holes and that blade cracked. Strikemaster will be getting another call. 3 icefishing outings and 3 sets of blades? And if they tell me to make sure that they are tight I will not be happy. When you drill 3 holes they should not be loose afterwards or broken. Not happy right now as I gave my old auger to my Dad and brother to use in thier perm shack.

where these the sweden made blades or the ones from china. if they are china made then they are garbage. if they are sweden made then there must have been a defective lot. this would be my guess. let us know what you find out when you talk to strikemaster.

This is next to impossible? You did this on 2 sets of new blades. I dont even think you got China blades either that was from like 3-4 years ago. You likely have branded Mora's. No way SM sends you China blades.

Are you applying alot of pressure or drilling on shallow? I just cant see this happen unless you just got bad luck.

yeah something has to be a bit off for this to happen once but twice....I know it might be a pain depending on where you live but I would take the trip on over to Big Lake and have them look at it and fix your problem on the spot!

Ok, took the auger to Strikemaster today. The pich was off by a 1/4". They set the pich and installed new blades. They told me to try it and if it catches when going through the ice to bring it back and they would set what they could do to get me a new auger. Once again great service!!
