Otter II Lodge

I don't know if anyone would know this but its worth a shot. I have an otter II lodge that is purple. I bought this house 8 years ago. The Canvas and poles are getting into rough shape, but the sled is in good shape still. Does anyone know what package of the new Otter Line would fit this sled? I have looked at the otter HSOforum, but i dont know if the new Lodge series would fit on the old lodge sled. I know its cheaper just to buy new poles and canvas then a whole new setup so thats the route i would wanna take. Thanks for reading.

I would guess its on a magnum sled (I have a otter II village model on a magnum sled), and otter still sells houses for that sled. Aslo check out cnavas craft, they sell replacement poles, fabric for all the otter sled sizes. Just google canvas craft.

AS long as its a Otter ll sled or newer you can put a new frame and skin on it. It would be the Mag Lodge. Otter is offering the poles and canvas as a package deal this year.

Myself I would look into a end of the year deal at stores now. I say this because the new seating system on the Pro Series houses is awesome. Add the Sportsmans Caddy to that and its the best house out there in my opinion.

I dont know if you will be at the Duluth boat show but if you are stop by the Otter booth and look me up. Im sure we will some houses to look at and for sale.

It would be the otter magnum tent and poles. You will really like the new pole design. Very easy setup and takedown. I believe the tent only comes in the blue ice camo. Keep an eye on Reeds HSOforum. They usually discount them towards the end of the season. I believe what you need is around $400 right now but you'll have to check. Well worth the money.

Thank you guys for all the replies! Northlander, i will not be up at the boat show in Duluth, but are you a dealer for Otter?? I haven't really looked around at gm, schls etc, but is the fabric on the new Mag Lodge like that of the older lodges. My cousin has a Fishtrap X2, and the fabric isn't as much as a canvas as a synthetic. Thanks

I'd recommend taking a look at the new "canvases" before buying. I have been a die hard otter guy, bought my first one the 2nd year they were out. Having said that I personally do not like the new skins at all. That black plasticy stuff they all seem to use on the inside now drips condensation within minutes of getting set up and turning the heater on. I'm also not a fan of the new seating system with the bar running from the front to rear of sled, just gets in the way when loading and unloading stuff from the sled IMO. But others I have talked to absolutely love the new seating system.

When I replace my skin it will be with a Canvas Craft skin, most likely the NorPac one.

When you replace your skin are you going to keep the same poles? I looked at the canvas craft HSOforum and the poles look to be the same small diamater poles that are in the original otters. I like the new design of the Glide otter poles. They seem to be stouter than the old poles, but the fabric is what is holding me up on buying the otter magnum setup. I don't want condensation freezing and dripping all the time. I wonder if a guy could use the new otter poles with the canvas craft skin?????

I think a guy would have to talk to Canvas Craft to see whether their skin would fit over the newer Otter poles. I'm not even sure if they sell just the skin or if one has to buy the skin and frame. Never looked into it that far, just know I'm not a big fan of the new skins and figured if/when mine needs replacing I want to stick with a canvas skin. Plus teh NorPac insulated skin looks like the cats pajamas!

Call up Canvas Craft.. 763-428-4325.. Talk with Ben there. He will hook you up. I would look at the Norpac material. I was out when it was -18 below & the Norpac folded up like it was inside my home. I was toasty warm on a low/medium setting with vents open.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
