What type of fishing would I use this pole for?

So i was at my storage unit with my dad and noticed I had a pole in there that I had bought a couple years back. I bought it back when i didnt know much. So i never got to use it cause it was huge.

Its a Fenwick Eagle GT.

Its 7 feet long.

Its a 70 MH (dont know what that is)

It is MH Power

Lure weight is 1/4 to 1 1/4 OZ

Line Weight of 10-25 pounds

What would I use this for? Trolling?

well the 70 mh would mean that its 7 foot and medium heavy action would work decent for a jigging rod for bass as well. I use a few in heavy weeds when I'm jigging for bass. Could also be a good northern rod. Even throwing crank baits for whatever bites.

So 70 stands for 7' 0" ?

You could put it back in the storage shed - come back a few years later and ask yourself what H was I thinking when I bought this $#@% pole and post on here what you could use it for! LOL grin

I dont get it but ok lol grin

I just bought the HMX version of that rod for mainly trolling crankbaits but I also plan on doing some jigging for bass in the weeds with it.

I'm looking for a reel for this rod and I want to find a baitcaster reel with a line counter on it. Any ideas of a good reel with a line counter on it that's also good for casting? A guy at Cabelas said most line counter reels aren't very good for casting and the portable line counters don't work very well with braid.

Ok thanks everyone. I really wish i knew as much as all of you about fishing. Im the only one in the family that really likes to fish. I might just start buying books on it. And i need a boat.

I've got a boat for you? If your interested?

just remember that when buying a boat you don't need to go all out on your first boat.....buy a used cheaper boat with a trusty motor and get use to loading unloading and driving and handling a boat and then figure out what it is you like or dislike about the first cheaper boat before you decide to spend big money.......

That's a good rod for using larger lures or getting the fish outa thick weeds. I'd use that rod for topwater froggin, spinnerbaits, deep diving crankbaits and large bass jigs. Put on a good reel and say 30-50lb braid and hit da slop.
