Noodling for Catfish?

I don't think I'd want to try it up here even if it was legal. I've seen way to many snappers in the lakes and rivers to dare put my hand in some hole under water up here. I just thought it was interesting how they went about it on the show we seen.

they got larger snappers down there and gators to boot

haha, yeah... back where I'm from we had big old snappers, no gators, but definitely had water moccasins... I'd come face to face with a snapper over a water moc any day.

Noodling is something I'd definitely observe, but can't say I'd go out of my way to try.

Who knows, maybe next time I'm down there someone will convince me. I'm easily persuaded sometimes.

Ok, so I just seen a show on TV that made me remember that I was going to try noodling for catfish when I was stationed down in Kentucky, but we got deployed before ever getting the chance to go.

Has anyone here ever went noodling for catfish?

Its a dream of mine that I hope to fofill someday noodlin in Oklahoma

Hey some people jump out of perfectly good air planes I think that this is a bit more sane than that laugh

I worked a lot in the south and alked with serveral noodlers back in the mid 80's they always had some really cool storys to tell and yes one guy was missing fingers from a snapping turtle but he said it was his fault casue he new that it wasnt a fish but tried to grab it anyway and came uop with a couple missing didgits grin

I personally think it is crazy. I saw a show last night where they would stick their feet under the bank then when a cat bit their foot they would go in and grab it and run a stringer through its gills and pull it out. They would release them right afterwords. Wouldn't yanking them out of the hole with a stringer put some unneeded stress on the fish and possibly damage the gills?
