Bohemian Waxwing

I don't see these very often, so it was nice to find this co-operative waxwing.

I shot a few with my Canon 70-300. The bird let me get very close so I switched to the only "L" lens that I own, the 100mm Macro.

I was showing my wife the pictures and pointing out how clear the 100mm images turned out. I commented that I should get some more "L" glass.

Amazingly she was very supportive. As she left the room she recommended that I go to "L".

At least that's what I heard.

All with 100mm?

The first 3 are with the 70-300, the rest are with the 100mm. All except the head shot are cropped to some degree.

Mike, I'd be glad to ID the crabapple tree if I had any idea what variety I planted. It's been here at least a dozen years and looks like this every winter.
