What would you do?

Curious on what you would do when faced in the situation I was in a couple of days ago! While walking through the woods on public land i noticed a very small seven point buck with its back broken. It looked as if it had a small tree fall on his back due to the heavy snowfall. He had obviously been there for a day or so. My question to you is "what would you do?" I had noticed that another person had walked by this deer earlier in the day! I, personally, could not let the animal suffer anymore and had a buck tag i needed to fill anyways. So i put him out of his misery!

Anyone that thinks they can be a savior and put down a hurt animal in the wild without a tag should contact a CO to see what they will say.

Let nature take its course will be the answer you get........ Sux for sure, but its the truth.

Will a CO cite you if you "do the right thing"? Your best course of action is to call law enforcement before taking the matter into your own hands.

I hear what you are saying hockey, but I don't think anyone is disputing the fact that by LAW you need a tag to put the buck out of its misery. I think the humane human factor kicks in here for a lot of folks. Hopefully I'm never put in the same situation as without a buck tag, I may have to put the buck down anyway..... suffering is not easy to watch no matter who/what is doing the suffering...

i would have done the same thing. If you didnt have a buck tag i would have called the DNR and told them about the deer have heard other stories where the DNR told the person to shoot the deer either way cause they didtn want it to suffer
