I have heard so may differnt things on the laws and I get sick to my stomach when someone says "I didnt know that" or "you can't do that"

I read the regulation book for hunting front to back then back to front I want to know what the laws are and I dont want to break any and if I feel that I need to I will read the reg booklet over and over until I'm sure I understand the laws and if thats not enough I will call the DNR or the area CO to answer any of the tough questions I have

I hunted with guy that didnt belive that you could transport a firearm uncased on your ATV and I used to hunt with a guy that said that you had to register your deer in your area that you shot it in. I even read the rules to him and he still didnt belive it I wonder if he knows about the phone in registration yet grin

PLEASE READ THE REGULATIONS

you might be suprised to find somethings out and its not bad reading either

Anyone, not just a youth can shoot an antlerless deer outside of the his/her designated area given:

they have not exceeded the maximum # of deer for that area, i.e. 2 in managed, or up to 5 in intensive harvest.

or, they were successful in the lottery and have not taken a deer in a lottery area yet. You can party hunt for antlerless deer statewide also.

The designated area really doesn't mean anything anymore, but you need to be sure you know what area you are hunting and what the designation of that area is.

The best excuse I heard this year was "Well, if bonus tags aren't valid in my area (which is lottery, and this person knew it), why did the clerk sell me one?". I guess the high school kid making $6.50/hr is supposed to know the regs for every single area in the entire state, as well as know exactly where every customer will be hunting for the entire season......

You don't need to memorize the entire regulations booklet, but DO need to know the general deer hunting regs, as well as the specifics for the area you hunt. It's not rocket science.

When you sign your license you are essentially signing a contract indicating you know the law.
