Chapo
Does anyone know what is the easiest way to sanitize and store camelbacks after using them. I have only used water in mine. Thanks for any help.
0 flyfisher03
Buy the cleaning kit and follow the directions. Make sure to rinse it out very well and let it air-dry otherwise it will cause the water to taste bad.
0 Surface Tension
A cap full of bleach to a gallon of water works well as a disinfectant for just about everything. Rinse well and let air dry.
0 gunmunky
We use lemon juice mixed with some water and ice cubes. Swish it around then rinse several times with only water. Then we empty them and store them in the freezer.
0 JimBuck
I use 50/50 Vinegar and H20 and let it sit for a few hours. Then flush it out a few times and let air dry.
0 SkunkedAgain
Like ST said, a little bleach mixed in will do it good. That's how I store my water bags and water filter at the end of each camping season. In the spring I just run some water through them again and you're good to go. 0 Wish-I-Were-Fishn
I know a guy that drank out of his for a few months without cleaning it. He got sicker then a dog for about 2 weeks! Learned the hard way that you need to clean them.
0 Nate McVey
I use bleach and water and then prop open with a coat hanger and let it air dry, make sure you get some in the tube too. Nothing worse then taking a big drink after it's been stored and tasting mold
0 gregg52
whats a camelback ????????
0 Nate McVey
Camelbak's are one of the greatest inventions for anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors and needs to stay hydrated. I wear a 100oz. bladder when I am elk hunting, it's much easier than carrying around a bunch of water bottles.
