radke22
I shot this thing friday near Glenwood along with another very young rooster. I talked to the area wildlife manager with the DNR and he said that it was rare and appeared to be a wild bird as opposed to farm raised. There were no pin feathers anywhere on it, it had white feet as well as white washed wings, white strip down the tail feather (14") and white on the chest. shortfatguy
Cool looking rooster. Are you putting him on the wall?

Matt Breuer
Too little my behind! Rare colors are WAY cooler than bigger birds. I would slap that baby on a wall! Congrats!
varmithtr
Put me in the "mount it" club. Lot's of big, mature birds shot everyday during season, very few with distinct colors. Would look great as a mount! Awesome kill, thanks for the pics.
Jack Peterson
I'm pretty sure i've seen a bird like this before, I just can't remember who shot it or when. Although, we didn't think anything of it at the time.Still wish I could've got a picture of a solid white hen on my land.

Me I wouldn't put it on the wall. just my

radke22
I have shot a rooster with a 25" tail, but the freezer killed on me and it got moldy on me and I had to throw it away. As far as this bird goes, I was on the fence with this one. Even though it does not have a huge tail on it, I know with the white running down the tail, white legs, white wings, white back and white head it will be a head turner for sure. grab the net
Put it on the wall or floor. Great bird, one you will remember for a long time.

mnviking28
My dad shot one in NE South Dakota about 10 years ago that was similarly colored but had a little more white in it. He had it mounted in full flight. It is a VERY cool mount. I am going to visit him for deer hunting this weekend, I will take a pic and post next week in case you are interested in ideas on whether or not to mount it. My only regret on the whole deal is that I didn't get it...It flushed in front of me and I was so shocked by the coloration that I double clutched-he dumped it. jb_bobber
nice bird, I just shot one sunday but it had more white in the feathers and the tail is completely white. I've never seen a bird like that before. Mine is also going on the wall. I wish I knew how to post a picture. Good luck hunting to all
