Jameson
This mornings pheasant hunt including my dog doing a little fighting with a feral cat. I saw the cat bite my dog at least once. Do I need to make a vet appointment? Anything to look for in the coming days? Thanks P.S. I guarantee it was the cat's last fight.
BARNEZ
I would go to the vet just to it checked out, so its not your dogs last fight.
JayinMN
I would take to a vet and see if they recommend putting him on antibiotics. Cat bites often cause nasty infections. I know with humans its recommended to see a doctor right away.
Ralph Wiggum
I'd definitely get to the vet. Cat bites can get nasty in a hurry.

I think it was his first fight, and hope it was his last fight. I just want him to have many more hunts. Vet will be called soon.
FCspringer
Do you have current rabies? next tim blast the cat, and you can check the cat out for rabies. They need a season on wild cats. The last year I traped I caught 14 cats for every skunk, coon and fox combined. Drove me nuts. PS good advice on the vet.
PurpleFloyd
Did you at least shoot the cat?

Jameson
Vet said rabies was the biggest concern. Since my dogs have had recent rabies boosters I hope to be in the clear.ya'll don't want to know how many feral cats I take out of the population every year. When I did a little live trapping a couple of years ago it was 4 cats for every coon or possum. I caught 8 coon/possums...amazing that their is still any pheasants in the area.
