Pre 1980 deer hunting photo's thread

Recommended Posts

I don't check out the deer hunting forumn much mostly ducks dogs and photography but I have been scanning all my dads old deer hunting photo's (poloroids) trying to get them on a disc. Iv'e ran across some pretty neat old photo's that i had forgot about. Though it would be fun to see some other old photo's.

These deer were shot around Northhome

What area did they hunt back then?

It was on the flowing well trail I hunted there with them for about 12 years every year i at least saw a nice buck every season, didn't see alot of deer but quality and we were along way back in the woods I never saw another hunter in 12 years, our closest stand was 3 miles off the road, we would sit all day and most of the deer were shot mid day, in the old days they drug all those deer by hand.

This one was taken by longville in 1949 the field behind them is now a pine grove that I currently have a stand by.

Have you been down the flowing well trail during deer season lately? I doubt you could hunt an hour without some kind of human contact. Also, what happened to hunters staying with local families? Most families used to have "hunters" during the season. Now hardly anybody does.
